Revolution in the skin microbiome

Microbiome Stimuli Base, is a raw material that affects the microbiome and is able to effectively help people suffering from psoriasis, eczema and atopic dermatitis (AD).

INCI:Bifidobacterium/(Lactobacillus/Saccharomyces/Schizosaccharomyces/Zygosaccharomyces Ferment Filtrate) Ferment Filtrate.
Mono ID (INCI): 38149

Stages of work

The need for introducing a new raw material.

The number of people suffering from psoriasis is 3% of the world's population, those with atopic dermatitis (AD) make up 1-3% of the world's population, while eczema affects 15-20% of the child population.

Currently, there is no product on the market that effectively regulates the skin microbiome of such individuals.

Solution!

Regulation of microorganism abundance on the skin's surface.

The action of the raw material - the mechanism of regulating the skin microbiome.

The skin microbiome plays an important role in maintaining skin health and balance.

The skin microbiome plays an important role in maintaining the health and balance of the skin.aOn the one hand, microorganisms prevent the growth of pathogens, or pathogenic microorganisms, which can cause inflammation, infections and other dermatological problems.

On the other hand, the skin microbiome influences the functioning of our immune system, and regulates processes related to sebum production and the maintenance of skin moisture.

The skin of people with psoriasis eczema and AD, has a pathological microbiome dominated by pathogenic species such as S.aureus.

MSB's raw material allows regulating the number of microorganisms on the skin's surface through competitive signaling that causes pathogens to reproduce more slowly.

Scheme of MSB
operation over time

The first product on the market that simultaneously:

Regulates the skin microbiome

Reduces the population of S.aureus

Environmentally friendly

Easy to transport and dose

Supports the reproduction of commensal bacteria

Research carried out before the raw material was introduced to the market

Pathogen inhibition levels - results for different concentrations.

Measurements of the maximum growth rate of microorganisms, specifically pathogenic cells, were conducted. Optical density (OD) measurements were taken at a wavelength of λ=600nm during exponential growth. Subsequently, the results for various concentrations of the raw material were compared to the control, and the percentage inhibition at different MSB concentrations was calculated. The results are presented in the table.

Assessment of cellular toxicity

Cellular toxicity assessment was performed using a fibroblast cell line (V79), which was exposed to various concentrations of the bioferment. Subsequently, cells were seeded onto special 96-well plates made of SBS material, allowing for real-time cell observation using the Nanolive 3D CX-A holographic microscope. Cell morphology images were obtained every 1 hour for the first 12 hours after the addition of MSB to their culture. Then, at 24, 48, and 72 hours. The results indicate the absence of cellular toxicity, as presented in the adjacent image.

Dermatological tests

Dermatological studies have demonstrated that MSB does not cause irritations on sensitive skin, both 48 hours and 72 hours after the application of 100% raw material.

The analyzed group was n=20.

Benefits of using Microbiome Stimuli Base

Reasonably priced raw material.

Undemanding storage conditions.

Large transport possibilities.

Possibility to reach a new market segment.
